It appears that my computer has been infected with virus as it has become very slow. The computer man says that it will be better to get it formatted.
I want to know can I save my sotwares in this case? I understand if he formats my computer, all of my softwares will be lost and it will be needed to install them again whereas it is not possible for me to re-install them for certain reasons.
Is there a way to get the computer formatted without losing the current softwares?

I don’t know who is fixing your PC but you don’t need to format your PC if you have a virus. You reformat your PC and you’ll have to install a new operating system. Heres a few link’s to help you out. Download and run them before you let this person wipe everything off your hard drive. http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Spy… http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai… Also, you need a good virus protection to run at all times and AVAST is one of the best and it’s free. Download at http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home… Run and use these tools, also run and use http://www.download.com/Advanced-Windows… Good luck. Mikie.
No. If you format your computer, all the data will be erased, including any software installed.
You will need to find installation media for all the program you want to have again. If you do not have the original CD’s, you will need to either purchase them, find a friend to lend you a copy, or download them illegally off the internet.
FYI: Software is never plural. It’s like ‘Reindeer”
